tonight is break

tonight is break night. so let’s take a break together. was originally planning on writing a steamy post, but that’s work. let’s take a break.

what that means for me is first, a lot of anis mojgani and buddy. i have been so attracted by this poem for a long time. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bHX3qtJlmdU and now, i think it overtakes favorites (move over shake the dust, direct orders, and here am i @seattle2006grandslam anismojgani… although listening to you again brings me back to tears and high school, passion before my head got in the way of saying ‘not good enough’ or ‘could be better’ and loved you as you sounded.

you know what the cool thing about poetry? for me, it takes patience. it’s not like i read the first lines, or hear the first lines, and i start crying tears of joy. just like good books, good movies - it is about the journey. sometimes it’s not about the bright spots but how all the spots come together, like a painting with dull colors and bright colors, boring and beautiful. but once you start digging, you dig, and you dig, and you find and maybe if you’re lucky, you’ll find the hint of a masterpiece that others see as well, that the writer felt him or herself — there are times when i think “man, these are the times when it makes sense that people created the idea of a muse — this is on another level, spiritual (not in a christian sense)”

and who can judge me for liking poetry? “evidently, i don’t experience things as rationally as you do” — who doesn’t like a good story, well spoken? the best poems are like the best friendships. it’s not always the most exciting thing in the world, the most intense, out-of-this-world experience 24/7. but it’s there, and sometimes, in the hard times, it will pick you up. sometimes, in the good times, when you’ll be at a loss for words, just smiling, and you’ll get lucky and find that poem that says everything for you. (even better, it will tell you what to do: shut up, enjoy this moment, it won’t last, kiss, go on that trip, soak it in) “dance with me” - and ESPECIALLY when you are heart broken, when you just want to indulge (guy/girl problems/struggles/victories (does this objectify women if love is seen as war? don’t care enough right now) are seriously overrated, but sometimes it’s just therapeutic to make a big deal of someone in your heart) there is PLENTY written for you - (DPS - why was language created… to woo women).

so yes, buddy and anis are my therapy.

ahhh… melt in this.
